What shipped, and what is next.

Up next Roadmap

  • Nested rich text

One message for text around elements that themselves contain elements.

  • More plural patterns

Recognise Intl.PluralRules and pluralize() helpers, not only n === 1 ternaries.

  • Vue and Svelte

    Template scanning for single-file components.

  • TMS sync

Two-way sync with translation management systems such as Phrase and Crowdin.

  1. v0.6.0

    October 27, 2026

A proper language menu, and useLanguage()

    • localize-dev/react: a keyboard- and screen-reader-friendly language menu with flags and native names
    • Customise the list, names, flags, layout and styles, or replace parts with render props
    • useLanguage() gives the current language, its flag, name and direction, the list, and setLanguage()
    • Right-to-left languages set dir on <html>; generated <select> switchers are upgraded automatically
  2. v0.5.0

    October 27, 2026

    Language switcher

    • A generated <LanguageSwitcher /> lists every bundled language in its own name
    • Remembers the choice (localStorage, or the lang cookie in Next.js so server components follow)
    • Projects set up by an earlier version get it on their next run, in a pull request of its own
  3. v0.4.0

    October 27, 2026

Plurals, rich text, Next.js server components, teams

    • Plural messages: one key with exactly the CLDR forms each language needs
    • Text around links and formatting becomes one <Trans> message translators can reorder
    • Next.js App Router: server components use an awaited translator; client components share the request language
    • Project glossary: never-translate terms, preferred translations and a style note
    • Team workspaces with invites, and a workspace switcher
    • Billing with Stripe, and usage emails at 80% and 100%
  4. v0.3.0

    October 26, 2026

    Project stats and run history

    • Project pages show strings translated and replaced, runs, and translations per language
    • The GitHub Action reports every run: pull request, strings replaced, translations, or the error
    • Usage is attributed to the repository it came from
    • Step-by-step API key and pull request permission setup, linked to your repository’s settings
  5. v0.2.0

    October 26, 2026

    Works on apps without i18n

    • Adds i18next and react-i18next when missing, with the lockfile updated in the Action
    • Creates src/i18n.ts that loads every locale file and imports it from your entry file
    • Enables resolveJsonModule in tsconfig.json and matches your quote style
    • Leaves existing i18next setups untouched
  6. v0.1.0

    October 26, 2026

    First public release

    • AST scanner for JSX text, allow-listed attributes and template literals rendered in JSX
    • Minimal-diff transformer that adds useTranslation once per component
    • Hosted translation model on every plan, with API keys, monthly allowances and a free tier
    • Semantic key naming and translation in one pass, with placeholder checks before anything is written
    • CLI: init, login, whoami, scan, run and pr commands, plus offline mode
    • GitHub Action that keeps one branch and one pull request per base branch up to date
    • Web playground that runs the same engine as the CLI
